Questions And Answers

What do you want to focus on most?

I want to uncover the stories waiting to be shared!

The military community is tiny and you’ll see just how quickly names and careers intersect. The notable names we’ve come to know often owe their legacy to the service men and women in the background and it’s their histories waiting to be told.

To mak the site “me,” you’ll see a lot of what I grew up fascinated by, such as Medal of Honor recipients and Civil War generals.

Were You in the military yourself?

I’m still in the military!

What's been your best discovery?

In 2019 I discovered a cenotaph for a MOH recipient was removed from Arlington National Cemetery, but still listed in their records. It took a lot of “dropped calls” and being put on hold before they finally admitted the stone was removed. It was a personal victory in that I discovered persistence could produce results and I had this opportunity to be a voice for those who had none.

What Are the biggest obstacles in your line of work?

The biggest obstacle is usually finding a next of kin. Some cemeteries will not assist unless you can prove a relation to the deceased.

How eager people can be to help!

Arlington National Cemetery, for more reasons than I can list here.

To honor those of yesterday, who assured us today.

The one I last visited and the one I plan to visit next!
